Alyssa Buron, LPC-MHSP, NCC

Alyssa believes that everyone is doing the best they can, but sometimes things get in the way.  Often we need to take a step back to regain focus and direction.  Alyssa considers each individual their own best expert and works as a catalyst for change at your own pace.

Alyssa is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP).  Alyssa often draws on helping clients make the connection between behaviors, thoughts, and emotions from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework.  Alyssa uses a variety of adaptable frameworks to develop an approach that is a best fit for each individual.  She is also a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) provider to address emotional and behavioral needs of children 2-6 years of age.

Alyssa’s specialities include: working with teenagers and the LGBTQ+ community, parenting skills, phase of life adjustment, and social issues.

Alyssa also works with children, adolescents, and adults with issues such as anxiety, depression, school needs, trauma, adjustment issues, social and communication skill needs, anger management, low self-esteem, impulsivity, emotional and behavioral issues in children, and stress management.  Alyssa provides a supportive space for LGBTQ+ clients and has experience working with transgender teenagers.  In her background of working with children, Alyssa has noticed that it is crucial to work with caregivers to empower them and increase their abilities so their child is able to grow at home.  She also has experience working with caregivers to help balance self-care with fulfilling their family’s needs.

When you meet with Alyssa, she gets to know you and what you would like to get out of therapy.  She takes a transparent, collaborative, and strength based approach to your time together.  She likes to help you leave feeling empowered and build resiliency for the next challenges you will stumble upon in your path.

Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys spending time in nature while skydiving, hiking, and going on walks with her dog.
